Sony held their first State of Play stream event today. The event lasted for roughly 25 minutes and showed off some of the newest content coming to Playstation 4 and Playstation VR. Below is a rundown of the titles shown during the event:
Marvel Iron Man VR – 2019
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled – June 21
No Man’s Sky Beyond (a content update that adds Playstation VR support) – Summer 2019
Ready Set Heroes – 2019
Blood and Truth – May 28th for Playstation VR
MiniMech Mayhem – June 19
Jupiter & Mars – April 23
Falcon Age – April 9
Trover Saves the Universe May 31
Everybody’s Golf VR – May 21
Table of Tales – April 16
Vacation Simulator – June 18
Observation – May 21
FNAF VR: Help Wanted – Spring
Concrete Genie (Game includes Playstation VR Mode) – Fall 2019
Days Gone – April 26
Mortal Kombat 11 – April 23
The stream event has been met with some criticism for the heavy focus on Playstation VR titles, and a general lack of reveals of brand new major Playstation 4 titles. Sony announced last year that they would be skipping E3 2019, and it has been expected that Playstation will hold a streaming event in place of an E3 conference. If that is the case, then it is likely that Sony is holding on to the major announcements for the week of E3 2019. If the rumors of a Playstation 5 coming soon are true, then it is possible that development for the Playstation 4 is winding down which could also be a factor in why the State of Play stream seemed to be light on content. As of this writing it is unknown when the next State of Play episode will air, but if it turns out that the nest episode will air during E3 that stream is guaranteed to contain more of the kinds of big announcements that fans are expecting.
