
Geoff Keighley has announced the Summer Game Fest event. This digital streaming event is making it’s debut as a to substitute for the E3 video game industry trade show which has was cancelled earlier this year due to concerns over coronavirus. In April the ESA revealed that they would not be holding a digital event in place of E3 this year.

The Summer Games Fest will be entirely digital and span from May to August 2019. The show website promises the event will feature news and announcements from the major game publishers, in-game events and playable content and demos of new games. The site also reveals for phase 1 of the event some of the major developers that were planning to attend E3 will make their announcements as part of the Summer Games Fest. Including Sony, and Microsoft, with Microsoft’s planned reveal of XBox Series X game play kicking things off on May 7th. As of now it is unknown if Nintendo, among others, are planning on holding digital events as part of the Summer Games Fest, but there may be further announcements in the coming weeks.
