Microsoft Streams First Look at New Games Coming to Xbox Series X

This morning the Xbox Series X first look stream revealed several new games planned to release on the console in the future.

They start out the presentation with an announcement that Halo 5 and many other titles from the Xbox game studios will be revealed in separate a stream coming this July.

Bright Memory Infinite is a first-person shooter/hack and slash developed by the one-man Chinese independent developer FYQD. This fact-paced project will be the completed full game to “Bright Memory Episode 1” which was released last year on Steam.

Dirt 5 is the latest entry in the renowned rally racing franchise. The game is set to release in October for Xbox One and through Microsoft’s Smart Delivery system users that purchase the title on Xbox One will receive the enhanced and optimized for Xbox Series X version for free.

Scorn is a H.R. Giger-inspired first-person survival horror shooter that has been in development since 2014. The game will release as a console-exclusive on Xbox Series X.

Chorus is a space flight rail-shooter that is coming to Xbox One, and Xbox Series X version in 2021. The game will also see release on PC and Google Stadia. In the game you play as ace pilot, and ex-cultist, Nara. She partners with Forsaken, a sentient A.I. star-fighter, and the duo seek to put a stop to a mysterious cult that seeks to take over the universe.

Madden 21 was confirmed to be coming to Xbox Series X later this year.

During the stream it was revealed that there are over 100 developers and publishers promised support Xbox Series X in the future.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the 2004 classic, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. The project is being developed by Hardsuit Labs and published by Paradox Interactive. While a new team will be working on the game, Brian Mitsoda, and Rick Schaffer, the writer and composer from first Vampire the Masquerade Bloodline, will be working on the project.

Call of the Sea is an adventure game in which you play as Norah, a woman in search of her husband’s missing expedition party on a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the 1930s. The game promises many puzzles and twists as the player unravels this mystery.

The Ascent is a co-op action-RPG set in a cyberpunk world where the mega-corporation that controlled everything has just collapsed. Can this world survive?

The Medium is a new psychological horror game from the independent developer Bloober, the team behind 2019’s Blair Witch: Evil Hides in the Woods. The team announced that they are working with Akira Yamaoka, the composer from Silent Hill series.

Scarlet Nexus is an action RPG from Bandai Namco in the spirit of God Eater, and Astral Chain. The game is set in a cyberpunk future where the an elite team of psionic-soldiers is the last line of defense from an ominous alien threat. The game launches on Xbox One and Xbox Series X later this year.

Second Extinction is a 3-person co-op shooter that features a world that has been taken over by evil mutant dinosaurs.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the newest entry in the action-RPG series. The player takes on the role of Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level member of the Yakuza that is betrayed and left for dead by his most trusted alley. He then takes up a quest for vengeance.

The stream closed out with some in game engine footage from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. They confirmed the setting to be England during the viking invasions of 873 A.D. The player takes on the role of Eivor, a viking commander that leads a raid and takes over a small settlement in England. The game play trailer shows a Raven companion with Eivor, suggesting that the this bird will be how Evior uses “Odin’s Vision” a variation of how Eagle Vision was implemented through similar bird companions in Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
