“Yu-Gi-Oh!” Creator Kazuki Takahashi Found Dead at 60

NHK News reported that the body of “Yu-Gi-Oh” creator Kazuki Takahashi (高橋 和希) was found in shallow waters off the coast of Nago in Okinawa Japan. Takahashi was wearing scuba equipment which suggests that his death was due to a diving accident. The Nago City Coast Guard and police are conducting an investigation.

Takahasi was born on October 4 1961, and started working as a manga artist in 1982. He worked on several projects until 1996 when he would create the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga. The manga would be wildly successful leading to the creation of the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game by Konami and many spin off anime and manga series.

Rest in peace, Takahashi-san.
